Briarwood Animal Clinic is a veterinary practice limited to cats and dogs.  We emphasize wellness and personal care tailored to each patient.  Because we're a small personalized practice each staff member enjoys a variety of work assignments across all hospital functions.  Those who work at Briarwood will have a high level of client interaction.

Job Description  

Although the primary function of this position is assisting the doctors directly with the medical care of the patient, other duties will include client communication, laboratory procedures,  medical procedures, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, assisting in the operating room, maintenance of OSHA and Hazardous Material programs and general clinic operation.

 

Requirements:

High school Diploma, GED or equivalent

Ability to lift 40 lbs. and work well on feet

Good customer, verbal and communication skills.

Basic computer literacy skills

Ability to perform both clinical and customer service duties.

Licensing as Veterinary Technician is preferred but not required.





RECEPTIONISTS        Part-time position may be available

 

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.  Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the performance of their duties.

Experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred; experience in the customer service field is also helpful.

The receptionist will also be cross-trained to assist the veterinary technician, thus must also be able to work on their feet and lift at least 40 lbs.
